The first benefit of membership is a regular newsletter and commentary sent to you by e-mail. Jon writes his personal view of the wine world, and aims to supply you with interesting snippets and information although he admits that an occasional tirade or prejudice may elbow its way in now and again.

There are also regular free wine tastings, usually held in a local hotel. These are not in any way formal or intimidating, we just put out the wines we have selected, give you a glass and let you work your own way around. We are there to talk about the wines (or anything else) but we do not make a formal presentation or try to preach about them, we prefer to let the wines speak for themselves.

Most times we arrange an optional fixed price meal in the hotel afterwards to make the whole evening more special, and usually most people do stay for the meal which makes a very pleasant social event. The wines are offered at a special discount for orders placed on the night.

We also put on regular promotions for Tasting Club members offering special deals or discounts, details of these in the newsletters.

To join, simply submit your e-mail address in the box below, and you will receive future newsletters

Special Offers - 15/08/2008

Hi

I have two special offers of very limited supply:

Pink Champagne

Pierre Moncuit is a family run boutique Champagne House in Mesnil-sur Oger. Their wines are hard to get in the UK and the pink is very scarce, I tried to get six cases and was allocated only twelve bottles. It is a super pink, 75% Chardonnay and 25% red wine made locally which will be mostly pinot noir. Great as an aperatif or with fruity deserts and a steal at £24.99 but be quick as there are only 12 bottles.

Claret

Following the succesful offer of some rather grand clarets recently I have a limited supply of good, mature quaffing claret.

I have Patache d'Aux a Grand Cru Borgeois Medoc, I have one dozen each of the 1997 and 1999 available at £140 per case. Very acceptable wine for dinner parties or shoot lunches and hard to find these vintages. Drnking very well now and for the next couple of years.

The other claret is Chateau Malrome, a Bordeaux Superior estate which was the family home of Toulouse Lautrec, a fact which influences the colourful labels if not the contents of the bottle. I am offering two cases of the 1998 and four of the 1999 at a price of £130 per dozen, and the comments made above apply pretty much to this wine too.

The Champagne is in the shop so hurry along, you can reserve it by e-mailing me or phoning Lindsey in the shop on 01669 620965. The claret is in cellar so please e-mail me if you want to reserve a case.

All the best

Jon Radgick
