There are also regular free wine tastings, usually held in a local hotel. These are not in any way formal or intimidating, we just put out the wines we have selected, give you a glass and let you work your own way around. We are there to talk about the wines (or anything else) but we do not make a formal presentation or try to preach about them, we prefer to let the wines speak for themselves.

Most times we arrange an optional fixed price meal in the hotel afterwards to make the whole evening more special, and usually most people do stay for the meal which makes a very pleasant social event. The wines are offered at a special discount for orders placed on the night.

We also put on regular promotions for Tasting Club members offering special deals or discounts, details of these in the newsletters.

Christmas Sparkle - 09/12/2009

The one essential for that really festive feeling is a bottle of bubbly. Nothing else adds quite the sparkle to the occasion.
We have a range of eighteen different bubblies for you to choose from, starting at a lovely Cava with a real touch of class to it at just £7.10, through Pressecco, sparkling wine, house champage and the big brands.
Special mention must be made of three wines that I am most pleased with.
Our French sparkling wine made near the champagne region from the same grape varieties as many champagnes Charles de Fere is always a very reliable substitute, it looks similar in bottle and label, and at £9.38 is superb value. If you are having a party don\'t even think about the real thing, this is the wine for you.
We have just got a new range of English sparkling wines, and the Chapel Down Pinot Reserve is absolutely superb, I will be drinking this over Christmas because a) it is great, b) it is English and c) at only £20.18 it is magnificent value. We also have the Chapel Down Brut at £13.38.
Our new Champagne offering is a wonderful Vintage Champage from Charles Gardet, we have the 2000 vintage at the astonishingly good value price of £25.20 and the Rose 2002 for just £26.38. These are really good wines for a similar price to standard NV from the big name houses.
